Welcome to AHSR/ASMI

Australian Hospitality Skills Recognition/Australian Skills Management Institute. (AHSR/ASMI)

AHSR/ASMI is an award winning company for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). AHSR/ASMI aims to give opportunities to existing workers who have the knowledge, experience and skills (with or without any formal qualification and irrespective of age or nationality) to obtain an Australian National Qualification that is recognized worldwide.

AHSR/ASMI was founded in April 2011 and has its registered office in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates. As the Middle East has an excellent geographic location on the world stage and world class infrastructure, the tourism and hospitality industry has emerged as one of the most robust in the world. AHSR/ASMI has stepped in to provide an important service for business, community and industry.

AHSR/ASMI aims to provide good customer service to candidates across all continents.

RPL is the recognition of prior learning. It is an opportunity to have your skills recognized for what they are, formally, no matter how, when or where the learning has occurred. RPL identifies knowledge and skills you have already gained in the workplace.

We at AHSR are committed to giving you the right qualifications commensurate with your skills.

The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) “supports the development and maintenance or pathways which provide access to qualifications and assist people to move easily and readily between different education and training sectors and between those sectors and the labour market”. (AQF Objectives 2nd edition January 2013).

The RPL process reviews learning that may have acquired through a variety of life experiences including through formal or informal training, work experience (paid and unpaid) or through voluntary work.

In assessing a candidate’s ability, portfolios of evidence can include; prior qualifications, resumes, references, position descriptions, work examples, photographs/videos, practical/workplace observation, skills tests and assignments and a competency conversation.

Justine Ormandy

"I wanted to obtain a qualification based on my prior learning and experience within Hospitality. I wanted to ensure it would be credible and internationally recognised. AHSR ME FZE offered the opportunity to do that. The information provided was clear, logical and accurate. The follow up was timely and efficient. The support and guidance was always there. Feedback was clear and detailed. Due to these contributing factors, I completed the qualification with AHSR ME FZE within a minimal time period and promptly received the qualification. I would have no hesitation in recommending AHSR ME FZE to someone looking for Hospitality qualifications".

"Having successfully completed the Advanced Diploma in Hospitality with AHSR ME FZE previously, I looked to them again when I wanted to further my qualifications. Having seen potential courses I contacted them for details and was delighted to hear that my documentation used in the earlier diploma could be cross-referenced where applicable. This saved a lot of time and duplication, enabling me to focus on the areas not covered previously. Through the identification of further prior learning evidence and a detailed telephone conversation regarding my experiences, I was able to complete the Management and Project Management Diploma quickly and easily. Thank you to everyone involved."

Justine Ormandy, Director of Training (Hospitality Department), Hamad Medical Corporation, Doha, Qatar
